Police charge teen in Coral Harbour assault
RCMP flew in major crime unit June 26
RCMP in Coral Harbour have arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection with an assault that sent another man to hospital.
Police were called June 26 to assist a 43-year-old man suffering from serious injuries, a June 28 RCMP news release said.
The victim was medevaced to a Winnipeg hospital where he is now in stable condition.
The RCMP also flew in members from its major crime unit, police dog and forensic identification services to assist local police.
But RCMP Sgt. Greg Sutherland said police do not have details on what kind of injuries the man sustained, only that his injuries originally looked more serious than they are.
The 17-year-old was arrested and later released. He will appear in court in November on charges of assault causing bodily harm.
Police are not looking for other suspects in the case.
