A steady stream of voters, including Nunavut Premier Eva Aariak, filed into the Iqaluit Cadet Hall just before lunch Oct. 19 to vote in Iqaluit’s municipal election. Elisapee Sheutiapik won a third three-year term as mayor with 58 per cent of votes cast, fending off a strong challenge from Jim Little. About 58 per cent of eligible Iqaluit voters cast ballots in the election for mayor, while about 61 per cent of eligible voters cast ballots in the council election. (PHOTO BY CHRIS WINDEYER)
