Clyde River teenager dies in ATV mishap

A second young man suffers critical injuries

A teenaged boy is dead following an all-terrain vehicle collision outside Clyde River on July 29, an RCMP release said late July 30.

About 11 p.m. July 29, members of the Clyde River RCMP detachment received a report that the ATV on which the boy, who was the passenger, and another young man, who was the driver, were riding had hit some rocks.

The two each suffered serious injuries.

The teenager was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Clyde River Health Center, police said.

Another young man received treatment there and was later medevaced from the community, with critical injuries, police said.

The RCMP continues to work with the Office of the Coroner in the investigation into the incident.
