Search and rescue teams continue to look for a Baker Lake man who has been missing since Nov. 18.
A man in his mid-20s, who has been identified as Kyle Netser, left the community early Nov. 18 on a snowmobile to go hunting.
Netser was reported missing at 8:00 p.m. the same day.
“Initially when it was reported, he was only a few hours overdue,” said RCMP spokesperson Yvonne Niego.
A search and rescue crew left Baker Lake that evening, Niego said, following a trail they believed was Netser’s, heading northwest of the community towards Schulz Lake.
A larger group of searchers were out looking for Netser throughout the day Nov. 19, heading towards the White Hills area where Netser planned to be.
The RCMP did not have information about what the hunter was carrying on him, besides his rifle, and could not say whether he has any survival gear with him.
The weather in Baker Lake Nov. 19 was -30 C. with sunny skies and 30 kilometre/hour winds.
Environment Canada calls for clear skies in the region throughout the week.
