Police, Canadian Rangers and a ground search crew in Gjoa Haven are looking for a man who went missing this week while he was helping to look for another man in an earlier search and rescue.
The first Gjoa Haven resident was late returning home last weekend from Taloyoak after his snowmobile broke about an hour outside that community.
Within a day, police and search crews from Gjoa Haven were able to locate the young man, who was unharmed.
But a member of that search crew went missing in the process, RCMP in Iqaluit said May 15.
Police were notified May 14 that a male search crew member travelling by snowmobile had not been accounted for.
Police believe he was headed for Kugaaruk, and was carrying equipment with him.
