Missing six-year-old has been found, Iqaluit RCMP say

A young boy who went missing in Iqaluit this afternoon has been found, police said in a email sent at 6:15 p.m., April 14.

“The young boy has been found and is now home safe. We appreciate all the support from the community in these situations,” Cpl. David Lawson said.

The Iqaluit RCMP had sought the public’s help in locating Joe Arnaqaq, a six-year-old boy who went missing late in the afternoon of April 14.

Arnaqaq was last seen playing with his cousin at the Joamie elementary school playground just before 1 p.m.

Police said earlier the boy may have been playing outside and was unaware that he had been reported missing.
