Looking for some holiday fun in Kuujjuaq?
The community’s recreation committee has some games and events planned for Kuujjuammiut over the Christmas holidays, and all are welcome.
Starting on the day of Christmas Eve, Kuujjuaq’s Christmas lights competition kicks off. Local judges will check out the community’s illuminated homes, which will be judged on the quality and quantity of their glitz.
Christmas Day, Dec. 25, is considered Family Day and all are invited to take part in the community’s candy drop, which will happen between the airport and the Katittavik town hall at 1:00 p.m.
On Dec. 28, Kuujjuammiut are welcome to take part in a community feast, which will serve up a dinner at the Forum.
And on New Year’s Eve day (Dec. 31) Kuujjuaq’s best drivers will compete in the community’s ski-doo races, which kicks off 10 a.m. at Stewart Lake.
