A 60-year-old woman from Nunavik who had been missing in Montreal since last week, has been located in a city hospital.

Montreal police say that Mary Mickeyook of Kuujjuaraapik was found June 18 in Montreal’s Hôtel-Dieu hospital, where she had been admitted sometime earlier with burns to parts of her body.

Mickeyook’s injuries are not life-threatening, but Montreal’s police service could not provide more information about how Mickeyook was injured.

There is no police investigation and the missing person file is considered closed, Montreal police said.

Mickeyook arrived in Montreal June 10 and checked into the YMCA facility on Tupper St., which houses Nunavimmiut patients during their stay in the city.

But when she didn’t show up to June 12 medical appointment, family checked with the boarding home. Mickeyook hadn’t been seen since June 10, although her personal belongings were found in the room she was staying in.
