Photo: My precious — getting chewed out by ravens in Iqaluit

By NUNATSIAQ NEWS

Back off, if you know what's good for you... ravens, crows and other members of the corvid family have been known to collect treasures that catch their eye — bits of plastic and metal, even coins and jewelry — and this raven, spotted on the shoreline Apex trail in Iqaluit June 6, was no exception. Not only did it bury its blue treasure out of sight of the photographer, it squawked incessantly to dissuade potential thieves. (PHOTOS BY THOMAS ROHNER)
