Police in Kuujjuaq took part in a stand-off with an armed man Feb. 23 that police say ended “without incident.”

Late in the evening of Feb. 23, the Kativik Regional Police Force responded to a call about a young man holding a firearm, the Kativik Regional Government said in an email Feb. 25.

Police cruisers were parked outside a home in Kuujjuaq’s downtown core with flashing lights for over an hour.

Police say the call ended peacefully, although the KRPF would not say if the armed man was taken into custody or if he faces any charges.

Police continue to investigate.
