Nunavut lawyers host April 21 Iqaluit dinner on Arctic maritime law

The Nunavut branch of the Canadian Bar Association will host a talk on Arctic sovereignty April 21 in Iqaluit.

The talk will be led by Dr. Donald McRae, Hyman Soloway professor of law from the University of Ottawa.

As a member of the International Law Commission, McRae is a renowned legal expert and authority of the Law of the Sea, the international legal framework meant to govern Arctic waters.

He also specializes in the field of International Law and has served as an advisor to the federal government’s department of External Affairs in several international fisheries and boundary arbitrations.
