Nunavut commissioner to honour territory’s performing artist of the year

Do you know a performer in Nunavut who deserves to be recognized for their work?

The Office of the Commissioner of Nunavut is now accepting nominations for the 2012-2013 Nunavut Commissioner’s performance arts award.

The annual award sees a cash prize of $10,000 presented to an established performing artist who has made “a major contribution to the arts over a significant period of time,” said a March 21 news release.

Individuals can only receive the award once.

A selection committee judges nominated artists on their performing artistic achievements and the quality and impact of their work.
