If you live in Nunavut — and are not a midwife or territorial government employee — you may wish to put your name in for a seat on the Nunavut Midwifery Registration Committee.

Nunavut’s health department has two openings to fill on the Nunavut Midwifery Registration Committee, which is mandated by the Midwifery Profession Act.

The committee volunteers advise the minister on such matters as midwifery services, applications for registration, midwifery standards and skills, including the incorporation of traditional Inuit midwifery knowledge skills and judgment.

Members should be prepared to devote two to five hours per month to meetings and related activities, like research and reviewing documents, an Aug. 21 public service announcement said.

If you are interested, please submit a letter of interest, a resumé and two references by Sept. 30, at 5 p.m. by email to HSSnunavutregistrar@gov.nu.ca.
