Nunavut woman charged in weekend double assault
Jennifer Pudloo expected in court today for alleged aggravated assaults
A woman is expected in court today to face two aggravated assault charges after an early morning altercation in Iqaluit July 9.
A Nunavut RCMP news release dated July 9 says that at about 3:44 a.m. that morning, police received report of a “male screaming in the hallway of a building located on Niaqunngusiaq Road.”
Upon arrival at the scene, police found a man lying on the side of the road and bleeding near the building in question, the news release said.
People from the building then reportedly told police there was a man inside in worse condition.
Police called an ambulance and two victims were transported to the Qikiqtani General Hospital in Iqaluit and later medevaced to Ottawa with what are described as non-life threatening injuries.
Jennifer Pudloo was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault. She is scheduled to appear at the Nunavut Court of Justice in Iqaluit on July 12.
