People with disabilities want respect
Hi. My name is Margaret Ishulutak. I’m from Iqaluit, Nunavut and I would like to write this letter regarding people with disabilities.
I would like to let the people know out there that we don’t have enough transportation help and we’re or not getting enough help financially.
We have a hard time, more than other people, because they will not think about us and how we feel.
When it comes to our situation, they think we are like vegetables and they peel us off and throw us away. We are not delicate. We are human with hearts and souls.
So learn how to be around us. Get to know us. Start laughing with us.
Only time will tell, but going against each other won’t get us anywhere. Life won’t stop just because you don’t like what you do or you’re having a bad day.
