A Danish patrol vessel in from Thule, Greenland lies anchored in Resolute Bay Aug. 18, when the vessel's captain invited members of the community and military reservists participating in Operation Nanook on board for a visit. In 2010, Denmark and Canada signed a memorandum of understanding “on enhanced operational defence cooperation in the Arctic,” such as joint military exercises, staff exchanges and co-operation in rescue operations, which has led to Danish participation in Operation Nanook and other Arctic military exercises.
