Photo: A day in the life of Cape Dorset residents

This colour drawing by Cape Dorset artist Kudluajuk Ashoona is one of a handful of her new pieces that will go on display at an upcoming exhibition at the Madrona Gallery in Victoria, B.C., featuring works on paper by Canadian artists from across the country. This particular piece is inspired by Ashoona’s daughter, Nicotye Samayualie, another up-and-coming artist at Kinngait Studios, who helped encourage her mom to start seriously making art about four years ago.
