Robert Long, deputy minister of Nunavut's department of economic development and transportation, centre, exchanges greetings with members of Arctic Infrastructure Partners Sept. 17 in Iqaluit, after signing a contract with the group for the design, construction, financing and operation of a new Iqaluit airport. “Today, with the signing of the contract with Arctic Infrastructure Partners, we are proud to be entering in to a long-term partnership to ensure the delivery and ongoing maintenance of our new airport,” said Peter Taptuna, the Nunavut transportation minister, said in a Sept. 17 news release. “This is the largest capital project ever undertaken in Nunavut, and the partnership approach will ensure that this project is low risk and will be completed on time and on budget.” At left, Yuri Visman and Adel Bellemlih of AIP, to the right of Long, Geoff Quaife and Catherine Kloepfer, also of AIP.
