Greenland’s education minister Palle Christiansen hands Nunavut Premier and education minister Eva Aariak a traditional Greenlandic drum at the Circumpolar Conference on Education for Indigenous People at the Frobisher Inn Hotel Nov. 28 in Iqaluit. The governments of Greenland and Nunavut are co-hosting the event which started Nov. 27 and wraps up Nov. 30. “This circumpolar conference is an excellent opportunity to distribute and share different ideas, experiences and knowledge of education and research in the circumpolar North,” Christiansen said. “Better education means economic growth and creation of more jobs for people in the North.” (PHOTO BY DAVID MURPHY)
