Photo: A great day at Makimautiksat Youth Wellness and Empowerment Camp

Here’s a view of happy campers at Makimautiksat Youth Wellness and Empowerment Camp held near Cambridge Bay from June 30 to July 13. The camp, which took place both in the community and on the land, combined learning approaches such as group discussions, individual reflection, activity-based learning, role-playing, learning from and sharing with elders, skill practice, and more. The Makimautiksat camp is one part of a four-component project at the Qaujigiartiit Health Research Centre focusing on child and youth mental health and wellness in Nunavut.
