Photo: A new look for Kuujjuaq’s youth centre

Kuujjuaq’s Uvikkait dome youth house has a new look, thanks to this new exterior mural by Iqaluit’s Nuschool design agency. The agency’s Jonathan Cruz designed the mural and painted it with fellow artist Patrick Béland this past July — and in August youth attending the National Inuit Youth Council meeting in Kuujjuaq officially opened the recently-renovated centre. Kuujjuaq is now the third Nunavik community which Nuschool has visited and enlivened with murals — Cruz has designed and painted murals in both Puvirnituq and Kangiqsujuaq. (PHOTO BY SARAH ROGERS)
