Photo: A new southern base for Canadian North

Canadian North has found a new southern charter base at Edmonton International Airport, where the Inuit-owned airline officially opened its new hangar there at a former SPAR Aerospace facility Jan. 24. The airline, which recently added three new Boeing 737s to its fleet, will provide charter flights for the energy and mining sectors working in northern Alberta and Canada, including Newmont Mining Corp.’s Nunavut operation. While the hangar terminal will provide maintenance to Canadian North’s entire fleet, the attached terminal will serve only its charter customers. (PHOTO BY ALASDAIR MCLENNAN)
