Photo: A scary time for all in Kangiqsualujjuaq

Grade 5 and 6 students at Kangiqsualujjuaq’s Ulluriaq School get ready to scare their fellow students at the haunted house they set up in their classroom. The haunted house included scary music, smoke, darkness along with a skeleton wearing only a long bright-red wig. In some Nunavik communities, there was debate over whether Inuit should observe Halloween with commenters on local radio saying Halloween is the “devil’s day” and that no one should celebrate it.
