People in Nunavut generally prefer to be in a boat when they're out on the water. Not so Henko Roukema of Cape Town, South Africa, a trained lifeguard. Roukema came to Nunavut last month with a fellow South African Mike Horn and his expedition called Pangaea, a four-year circumnavigation of the world to places which are affected by climate change. While in Baffin Bay, Roukema swam a mile in 4.5 C water, wearing a swimming suit, cap and goggles,

While in Baffin Bay, Roukema swam a mile in 4.5 C water, wearing a swimming suit, cap and goggles, “as a cry to raise awareness to people around the world” that the Arctic region is affected by climate change more than other region of the world.
