The year 2011 also marks the 50th anniversary of CBC's eastern Arctic radio service, which began Feb. 6, 1961 when the CFFB radio station first signed on from the old T-1 building, located at what is now Iqaluit's Four Corners intersection on a lot now occupied by the Igluvut building.
