Nunavut Premier Eva Aariak at the Iqaluit library May 25, announcing that the Government of Nunavut will use its own money to replace the Community Access Program, which the federal government eliminated from its budget this past March. The program paid for free internet access at libraries and community centres across Canada. The GN’s Department of Education will now spend $85,000 a year to support 24 CAP sites in 20 Nunavut communities, preserving internet access for thousands of low income Nunavummiut.
