Nunavut MP Leona Aglukkaq and Santa Claus kick off a Christmas toy drive for northern kids Nov. 14 in Toronto. “Toys for the North,” which has already received $80,000 worth of toys from the Canadian Toy Association, will see RCMP members distributing toys in 44 communities in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. “Growing up in Canada’s North, I know that this kind and generous donation of toys will make a huge impact on thousands of families,” Aglukkaq said at the launch.
