Photo: Iqaluit voters say yes to beer-wine store

Iqaluit residents said yes April 20 to the idea of a strictly controlled wine and beer store in their community. Of those who cast ballots, 77.5 per cent voted “Yes” to this question: “Are you in favour of a beer and wine store opening in the City of Iqaluit?” Only about 22.4 per cent of voters voted “No.” Of the 3,658 eligible voters on the list, 1,452 cast ballots, for a turnout of about 39.6 per cent.
