Nunavik's favourite music festival, Aqpik Jam, kicked off in Kuujjuaq Aug. 11 with a number of live performances including Inuk, above, a Greenlandic band composed of Inunnguaq Petrussen (singer and guitarist, left), Nukannguaq Kajusen (bass, backing vocals) and Kristian Otto Therkildsen (drums). The band played their own songs as well as a few covers including the Bob Marley classic,


Nunavik’s favourite music festival, Aqpik Jam, kicked off in Kuujjuaq Aug. 11 with a number of live performances including Inuk, above, a Greenlandic band composed of Inunnguaq Petrussen (singer and guitarist, left), Nukannguaq Kajusen (bass, backing vocals) and Kristian Otto Therkildsen (drums). The band played their own songs as well as a few covers including the Bob Marley classic, “I Shot the Sheriff.” Also on the opening night roster: Arviat’s Calvin Pameolik as well as Jaaji & Taqqik, consisting of Quaqtaq native Jaaji Okpik and Charlie Taqqik, originally from Salluit.
