There's only enough money, about $2.8 billion, to build four ships — and the cost of each ship will rise by $50 million a year if construction is delayed, Parliamentary Budget Officer Jean-Denis Frechette said in a report.

There’s only enough money, about $2.8 billion, to build four ships — and the cost of each ship will rise by $50 million a year if construction is delayed, Parliamentary Budget Officer Jean-Denis Frechette said in a report. “The numbers are based on erroneous data,” Public Works Minister Diane Finley responded Oct. 28 in the House of Commons. “We are confident that we will deliver the six ships and create 15,000 jobs.” (FILE PHOTO)
