Nunavik's Avataq Cultural Institute officially opened its new Montreal office Dec. 12, where Avataq's president Charlie Arngak also signed a new three-year $1.2 million funding agreement with Christine St-Pierre, Quebec's minister of Culture, Communications and Status of Women.


Nunavik’s Avataq Cultural Institute officially opened its new Montreal office Dec. 12, where Avataq’s president Charlie Arngak also signed a new three-year $1.2 million funding agreement with Christine St-Pierre, Quebec’s minister of Culture, Communications and Status of Women. “The signing of this agreement will continue our productive and creative collaboration,” St-Pierre said at the opening. “Avataq Institute has had an undeniable influence in Quebec, Canada and throughout the world. Over the years, this organization has developed an expertise which contributes to the cultural vitality of Nunavik.” Avataq’s new office is located in Westmount at 4150 Ste-Catherine St. W.
