Photo: Baffinland gets the green light

The Baffinland Iron Mines Corp. wants to ship high grade iron ore by train from its proposed Mary River iron mine on northern Baffin Island to a port at Steenby Inlet. Now it looks as if the construction of the 149-kilometre railway will move ahead: Baffinland received approval Dec. 3 for its Mary River project based on the recommendation of the Nunavut Impact Review Board.
