Baker Lake's Laura Arngna'naaq, left, holds up her Indspire award, handed out at a gala ceremony honouring 14 First Nations, Inuit and Metis achievers in Vancouver Feb. 12. The Indspire Awards have been celebrating the significant contributions of Aboriginal people in Canada for 23 years. In honouring high achievers and recognizing role models, organizers hope to promote self-esteem and pride within Canada's Indigenous community. Arngna'naaq, singled out in the youth category, recently completed the University of Toronto's Master of Management and Professional Accounting program and is now one of only a handful of Inuit chartered accountants in the country.
