Photo: Beautiful beadwork

This photo showing a colourful selection of qalliniit, the beaded tongues that decorate kamiks, was posted for sale on Kuujjuaq’s sell and swap page this week. The exquisite embroidery was all done by well-known seamstress and author Dorothy Mesher, who turns 85 next month. There are still some qalliniit left for sale at house 1275-B in Kuujjuaq.
