Kuujjuamiut wave off snowmobilers in the Cain’s Quest Snowmobile Endurance Race March 21. Twelve teams had checked in to Kuujjuaq March 20 for a 16-hour layover in the race called “Canada’s longest and world’s toughest snowmobile endurance race.” A Kuujjuaq team, with Edward Watkins and Simeon Berthe from Kuujjuaq, didn’t leave with the others: they blew a snowmobile motor en route to the community and could not continue the race.
