Fundraising for the 83 left homeless by Feb. 26 fire at Creekside Village in Iqaluit continues. Earlier this week, Cambridge Bay chef Andy Poisson and students in his Nunavut Arctic College culinary arts course cooked and served up a lunch to raise money. People who want to help support Red Cross relief efforts underway are encouraged to contribute by calling 1-800-418-1111 or visiting the Canadian Red Cross website for the fire relief effort at www.redcross.ca/iqaluitfire2012. Several fundraising events in Iqaluit are planned for March 3, including a Loonie-Toonie sale at Iqaluit’s Anglican Parish Hall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., a bake sale from noon to 3 p.m. at the Arctic College main campus, and a show featuring Iqaluit musicians at the Royal Canadian Legion from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. (PHOTO BY RED SUN PRODUCTIONS)
