Photo: Cambridge Bay residents gather to celebrate church renovation

Father André Pierre Marie Steinmann, an Oblate missionary better known for his years in northern Quebec, helped to build the church in 1954 but over the years, it fell into disrepair. This past summer, the Cambridge Bay Coast Guard auxiliary was able to carry out $100,000 worth of renovations, paid for in part by donations from the Catholic Arctic Diocese, the Kitikmeot Inuit Association and local businesses.
