Photo: Cambridge Bay’s heroes honoured for their bravery

Commissioner of Nunavut Edna Elias, second from left, awarded bravery medals to four Nunavummiut in Cambridge Bay March 20. Doris Angohiatok, Trisha Ogina and Julia Ogina, pictured, were recognized for their efforts to save the life of a man who had stopped breathing at a camp outside of Cambridge Bay, by administering CPR. Another Cambridge Bay resident, Jimmy Jr. Okhina, also pictured, was recognized for his immediate and courageous actions to rescue a seven-year old girl from drowning in July 2011.
