Photo: Carving wood for the first time

Inukjuak artist Lucassie Echalook, left, puts the final touches on a giant wooden sculpture he created with Quebec artist Bernard Paquet — a larger version of a soap stone piece Echalook created. The artists produced the piece as part of the Anirniq Biennale de Sculpture 2016 in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, Quebec, an art installment that paired seven Nunavimmiut artists with local artists.
