When a group of tulugak get together, birders call it an “unkindness” but seeing them shelter from the wind behind this boat on the beach in Iqaluit, it might be more fitting to call it a “cleverness” of ravens. Iqaluit’s beachfront enjoyed 60 km/h wind gusts Jan. 7 which contributed to an afternoon wind chill of -42. And though blowing snow has returned to the Place of Many (frozen) Fish, temperatures today are expected to climb to -1C, according to Environment Canada. We won’t mention the wind chill.
