Julie Hanson-Akavak, 18, and Jessica Inookee, 17, hold up their work at an art show held last night at Inuksuk High School in Iqaluit. The paintings won them a joint first place in the Gillis Award competition, which gave each of them a $500 prize. At the art show, students displayed work they made in class throughout the year.
