Photo: CSA astronaut faces hard choices

University of Western Ontario professor and geologist Gordon Osinski (right) gives Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen (left) a test on Devon Island, Nunavut, this past July — he gives Hansen 20 rocks and tells him Hansen can only bring back 10. This is a valuable exercise to learn so that if Hansen travels to Mars or to the moon, he will know which rocks to look for to bring back, and not waste precious space on a tiny shuttle.
