Photo: Dancing on a bounty of blueberries

The Northern Village of Inukjuak invited mural artists Alexa Hatanaka and Patrick Thompson of PA System to add some colour to the exterior of the community’s new recreation centre in August. The result: these 10-foot-tall men’s kamiks, square dancing over a bounty of blueberries, which wraps around the new facility. Hatanaka and Thompson have painted murals in other northern communities; most recently they led a mural project in Toronto with a group of Cape Dorset youth. (PHOTO COURTESY OF PA SYSTEM)
