As darkness falls in Apex, April 20, a lighting tower illuminates a section of the community in preparation for overnight shooting for the feature film Two Lovers and a Bear. A production crew led by academy award-nominated director Kim Nguyen will wrap up filming in Iqaluit on April 23, after they are done shooting night scenes in Apex. The Arctic drama stars Tatiana Maslany and Dane DeHaan, who are completing the final outdoor scenes with six other actors. “We’re at work from about 10:30 at night to 3:00 in the morning to get the night shots,” said Iqaluit-based co-producer Ellen Hamilton. The lighting tower, seen at the centre of the photo, has replaced 18 streetlights for the duration of the overnight shooting.
