Alysha Maksagak of the Cambridge Bay Wolverines was chosen, along with fellow teammates Linda Howard and Suki Hogalek, to compete in this year's North American Indigenous Games in Regina, July 20 to July 27. Maksagak, 14, planned to join the rest of her Team Nunavut basketball team in Iqaluit for training before heading to Saskatchewan for the cultural and sporting event. “My favourite part of basketball, and even training for basketball, is it keeps me in shape and away from trouble,” Maksagak said.
