Photo: En route to the Maud

The Maud Returns Home barge, named Jensen after Maud shipbuilder Christian Jensen, floats past an iceberg off the coast of Greenland in early July. The crew, which just successfully crossed the Atlantic Ocean, is hoping to use this barge to raise the Maud — Norwegian polar explorer Roald Amundsen’s famous ship — from it’s current location underwater, off the coast of Cambridge Bay, and float her back to Norway. They expect to reach Cambridge Bay in early August. See story at nunatsiaqonline.ca. (PHOTO COURTESY MAUDRETURNSHOME.NO)
