Photo: fire consumes GN office building in Igloolik

Igloolik firefighters work to control a fire that broke out early Oct. 24 at the Inulirivik Building, also known as the “income support office.” The Igloolik fire crew responded to the emergency at around 6:15 a.m. and have brought it under control. But the building continues to smoulder and the assistant senior administrative officer in Igloolik, Celestino Uyarak, said the building is “a total loss” and that numerous files have been destroyed.
