Photo: Fire destroys Whapmagoostui building

A huge fire engulfs the Youth Centre and Band Office in Whapmagoostui, the twin community of Kuujjuaraapik, on Nov. 11. Power was cut in the area as firefighters from the Inuit and Cree communities battled the blaze for hours. The youth centre was being used temporarily by the band council while its offices were undergoing renovation. Investigators continue to look at the cause of the fire which leveled the building.
