Photo: Francophone Nunavummiut debate lawsuit at Iqaluit meeting

Commissioners with Nunavut’s French-language school board hosted a public consultation in Iqaluit May 21 to gauge support for a lawsuit the school board launched against the Government of Nunavut last February, which seeks better financing for infrastructure and instruction at its only school — École des Trois-Soleils in Iqaluit. The lawsuit has been controversial among many French-language rights holders, who voted a close 17-16 in favour of the lawsuit May 21.
