The Iqaluit Blizzard took gold Feb. 1, defeating the Rankin Rock 6-1 in the Peewee hockey tournament hosted in Rankin Inlet over the weekend. The Rankin Atoms took bronze in their own tournament, beating Repulse and Chesterfield Inlet in a major comeback and 8-7 overtime win. But winter weather shut a few teams out of the weekend tournament; teams from Coral Harbour, Baker Lake and Arviat didn’t make it to Rankin Inlet after their flights were cancelled.
